(Video) Pen Petroleum - Road Safety Awareness Program at Caltex Bedong
26 January 2025, Sunday - A Road Safety Awareness Program was held at Caltex Bedong in collaboration with JPJ Kedah. The event took place just before the Chinese New Year celebration and received strong support from JPJ officers, Pen staff, retailers, and local motorists.
The main objective of the program was to educate road users on the importance of traffic rules and to avoid traffic offences such as:-
- Driving over the speed limit
- Driving fast and not obeying traffic lights
- Red traffic light
- Cutting queue in double line
- Driving in the emergency lane
- Cutting queue
- Using mobile phone while driving
- Not wearing seat belt or helmet
- Overloading a vehicle
During the program, it was discovered that many motorcyclists were either not wearing helmets or were using non-compliant helmets. JPJ responded by distributing standard helmets to those in need. Free engine oil and reflective safety vests were also given away to encourage safe driving habits.
