Sutera Matra was excited when Chevron announced the MyKasih 2023 "Fuel Your School" program. They were honored to participate by adopting two schools, SK Sawah Bahru and SK Parit Zain.
On February 1st, Team Sutera Matra attended the annual event at SK Sawah Bahru's school hall. The event aimed to recognize the hard work of students and teachers. A total of 45 students, 11 teachers, parents, and Team Sutera Matra celebrated academic achievements together. Scholars and teachers received certificates, medals, hampers, and trophies respectively.
During his speech, Eddie, the Managing Director of Sutera Matra, expressed gratitude to his Bahasa Malaysia teacher, Cikgu Samad, and his discipline teacher, Mr. Phua, for their time and effort in teaching him. He acknowledged that the patience, kindness, and understanding from his teachers helped him to overcome challenges and develop a love for learning. Eddie now is committed to giving back to the community.
The team was happy to be part of the event and provide support to the community by easing the financial stress of parents preparing for the new academic year. Sutera Matra distributed backpacks to all students while taking the opportunity to introduce the Caltex brand to the community by sponsoring ten StarCard cards, each worth RM50, during the lucky draw session. The team also took the time to promote the Caltex Rewards loyalty program.
