Mobile payments: the future of payments at your station

Paying for products and services via a mobile phone, a form of contactless payment, is becoming normalised as customers get more comfortable with it. The reality is amongst the younger generation, cash payments are now probably only used for low-priced items and that would in time also be digitised.

The research conducted by an international research company commissioned by Chevron shows that most Malaysian drivers, especially the younger drivers and males, feel comfortable and safe using their mobile phones to make payment at petrol stations.

More than 53% of the consumers reported an improved fuel filling experience when there is a dedicated mobile application with an in-build payment and rewards feature.

Results from the research have demonstrated that Caltex customers will directly benefit from using CaltexGO as it improves their fuel filling experience. The launch of CaltexGO is another initiative to align with our customers’ expectations in getting better customer experience when visiting a Caltex station

As CaltexGO is being deployed across the country, we encourage Retail Partners to discuss with their RBCs and BMBCs on what “turun padang” activities can be done to drive CaltexGO usage.
